These are regularly-scheduled lessons for either 1-on-1 lessons or small groups of 2 to 4 students, customized according to the learning goals and interests of the clients for the best learning and improvement opportunities. Students of all ages and skill levels are welcome. This is the best option for adults and parents looking for a teacher to help build on foundational English skills, improve spoken or written fluency, or maintain their English over time. From basic vocabulary and reading skills, to functional English useful in traveling abroad, to business and professional English, I can accommodate a wide range of goals and interests. You can choose the subject and skill focus, or leave this up to me. You also choose the frequency and length of your lessons.
I use two different online English curriculums called “Off2Class” and “ESL Library” which can accommodate both highly-structured and more traditional vocabulary and grammar-focused learning, as well as more student-lead, topical lessons. I am also open to basing lessons around books, curriculums, movies, or videos of your choice at the cost of a monthly preparatory and planning fee of $60 and any cost necessary for the purchase of the materials.
Schedule a free trial lesson! In your free trial, I will introduce myself and demonstrate the curriculums I use in lessons. I will show you the placement tests for grammar and reading I use to build a lesson queue and understand the student’s prior knowledge of English and applied reading. During our conversation, I will observe your English skills through question and answer probing, as well as conducting a few activities to gauge students’ English levels in reading, speaking fluency, listening, writing, and pronunciation. This also serves to show you what lessons will be like, and give you a sense of my teaching style. I will give you an opportunity to discuss your concerns or learning preferences with regard to lesson content and style. After the trial lesson, you will receive an email outlining my observations of the students’ skill levels, and their strengths and weaknesses, as well as my recommendations for how to proceed in improving their English and organizing their lessons in the future.
